Holiday Training

Hey Everyone
This post is an update of my inconsistent training over the last 10 days

I guess the fact that i got some training in at all is good. However I am feeling guilty that i have missed some training and my overindulgence in food and booze is not helping the waist line (or my swimsuit figure) much at all.

Cycling!
I have been riding a few days a week.
Lays Saturday i met up with Chung on a ride and my front tire exploded on the way back near UBC. Please Note that it is a good idea to inspect older tires and replace them before this happens.

It was worn right down to the cord and the sidewall gave way.
Thanks to an instant patch i limped home but it was slow and a little nerve racking.

Then on Boxing Day I went for a ride with Zoltan and Kirk and had a few mishaps. First a spoke on my front wheel snapped out near UBC and then my glasses fell of my head and luckily I retrieved them just before a car ran over them. I am going to have to get the front wheel repaired. It had a sideways hop all the way home and was rubbing on the brakes, which is always fun in riding! I was having trouble keeping up with the other two.
It was super foggy and damn damp cold and on the way back as it was getting dark I was getting a little cold.

Getting a little sick of the Turkey even though I do like it.
Not that keen on the brussel sprouts though.

I have been snowshoeing a lot and really getting back into it again.

Yesterday I went and there was another large group standing all over the place talking. They seemed like a herd of sheep with little regard to the other trail users. (They need a herd dog!) At first I got a little steamed and then I realize that at least they are out there being active and do my best to let them know to make room without being rude.

Had a pretty good swim today at the reopened William Griffin Pool. New bulkhead in the pool and the water was super clean, which, I do like. I seem to be so slow in the water and feel more like a manatee instead of a dolphin!

Will post again soon!

Cheers
Dean
